☆JNHS/J-CLUB チューターの仕方(しかた)☆

JNHS/J-CLUB Tutorial Guidelines

​

Time and Day: 

10:10 - 10:35  Monday

10:10 - 10:50  Wednesday & Friday

 

Purpose: Help your club members in the same/lower levels of Japanese class to understand material better while building positive connections with each other.

​

NOTE: The "Sign-Up For Tutor" slots on the spreadsheet are for JNHS hours. You can still come in to see if we need your help as a tutor if you are not in JNHS, but JNHS members' missing hours will be prioritized and you should not sign up here. Non-members are still encouraged to use the spreadsheet to sign up as tutees, though, so that potential tutors know that you will be coming as well as your Japanese class!

Procedure:

​

1. If you know the specific dates that you can tutor, please sign up on the Google Sheet in advance so Sensei can arrange tutees for you. You are welcome to tutor without signing up if you do not know your availability in advance.

​

2. Go to the Japanese Classroom, L103 during tutorial. If you do not have a tutee, please go around and see if any students need help or talk to Sensei.

​

3. After tutorial ends please fill out the tutoring sheet located near the filing cabinets and bookshelf in the classroom. 

​

Enjoy your time helping others and making new friends.  It’s ok to start casual conversations (ex. anime, good restaurant, etc.), but use the majority of your tutorial time effectively. 

​

Priorities for the tutees to work on

​

1. Complete the homework, project, or any classwork to submit on time.

​

2. Study and prepare well for the upcoming Quiz/Test/Presentation/Speaking, etc.

​

3. Review anything that you think you are not so strong in. (Ex. Specific Hiragana/Kanji, Vocabulary, Grammar points, Sentence Structures, Speaking about a cultural topic)
